Assistant Secretary of the Senate - David Valverde
David Valverde, Chief Assistant Secretary of the Senate. Born in Phoenix,
Arizona, August 13 1949. Attended schools in the Phoenix area, A.A. at
Phoenix College in Communication Studies and attended Arizona State University.
Moved to Sacramento in 1976 and was hired by the Senate in December of
1976. I served at the Senate Desk as the reading clerk 1977-2004, recently
promoted to the Chief Assistant Secretary of the Senate position. I enjoy
all sports as well as bicycling, racquetball and shooting pool. Married
to Sylvia with two children Ruben and Michael. |

Secretary of the Senate - Bernadette McNulty
Bernadette is a native of New York. She began her legislative career in
1997 as an intern with the Assembly Chief Clerk. Bernadette graduated
from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree
in Political Science Public Service. She joined the Secretary of the Senate’s
Office in 1998 and currently manages the amending process. |

Clerk - Paula Rossetto
Paula, a
life long resident of California, was born and raised in Weed. She attended
College of the Siskiyous in Weed and then California State University
Chico majoring in Social Science. Paula’s legislative career started
in 1990 with the Committee on Industrial Relations. She joined the Secretary
of the Senate’s office in 1997 and is currently Minute Clerk for
the Senate. |

Marlissa Hernandez, Senate File Clerk. Born in Sacramento, California.
B.A. California State University, Sacramento. Worked in the office of
Engrossing and Enrolling in 1989. Has been working for the Secretary of
the Senate’s Office since 1995. Became the Senate Daily File Clerk
in 1997. |

History Clerk
- Neva Marie Parker
Neva was raised in Hercules, California. She attended bay area schools
and graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in History. In 1997 she was selected as the Assembly Chief
Clerk’s Intern for the Office of Engrossing and Enrolling and has
been in the capitol in different capacities ever since. Neva joined the
office in October of 2005 and is employed as History Clerk. |

Susan DeLaFuente, Assistant to the Secretary of the Senate. Born and raised
in Vallejo, California. B.A. degree in Political Science, Certificate
of Paralegal, California State University, Chico. Employed with the California
Legislature since 1986. |

Holly
is native to Sacramento. She gained legislative experience by working
with the Legislative Counsel Bureau for 14 years before accepting employment
with the Secretary of the Senate’s office in April 2004.

Randall is a native Californian and a graduate from the University of
the Pacific in Stockton California, with a B. A. in Political Science.
He has worked for both the Assembly and the Senate prior to his current
position as Reading Clerk at the Senate Desk. |

Jamie Taylor, Assistant File Clerk. A native of California, Jamie graduated
from San Diego State University. He began his career in the California
Legislature in 2001. |

A native
Californian, Zach began work for The Secretary Of The Senate’s Office
in the December of 2004. He is a graduate of California State University,
Sacramento, and majored in Government. He interned for The California
State Assembly, and worked as a messenger for The Legislative Counsel

Clerk, Emeritus - David Kneale
Born December 24, 1944, in Liverpool, England. Educated Alhambra High
School and East Los Angeles College in Southern California. U.S. Army
1965 to 1968. Served tour in Viet Nam 1967-68. Continued education at
American River College and Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. Married May
7, 1966, to Penny. Admitted to California State Bar in 1978. Employed
by Legislative Bill Room 1969. Senate Daily File Clerk 1970. Senate History
Clerk since January 1971. |
