These new zip code files are in Adobe PDF format. This format allows for quick searches and the ability to print the needed pages. What's New in this Version We have included Census 2000 population counts for the zip codes and portions of the zip codes. We have also been able to include the district of P.O. Box and single point zip codes this time. A single point zip code may be P.O. Boxes or a building with its own assigned zip code. Population counts are not listed for these. The percentage of zip codes was calculated from population counts and not by geographic area as in the past. Please note as in the previous versions of the Senate Zip Code Directory, Post Office Name is the name of the Post Office not the necessarily the city name. The post office location may serve more areas than the name implies. This name is provided as a general point of reference. Technical Information The zip codes are current to November 2001 and the population counts are from the 2000 U.S. Census. If you have questions please call the Senate Office of Demographics at (916)-445-9018 |
