SB 197 (Ducheny) – Child Care for Foster Care
This bill would transfer a child care certificate with a foster child
when a change in placement is made, as long as the need is demonstrated
per current law. The proposed action will allow subsidized child care
slot to transfer when the foster child is placed in a new home,
expediting placement and reducing the amount of time it takes for a new
foster family to obtain childcare.

AB 1278 (Ma, Lieber, Smythe) – Stop Human Trafficking
This bill would straighten the existing law against human trafficking
by making conforming and clarifying changes to the laws on asset
forfeiture; increase human penalties for human trafficking; clarify
charging element for victims under 18 years of age, and; prohibition of
debt service contracts.
STATUS: In Senate Public Safety Committee
