~Past Sessions~ A legislative session lasts two years. The current session actually began on December 7, 1998 and ends November 30, 2000. The bill numbering process begins anew each session. SB 1234 in the 1997-98 session is a different bill than SB 1234 in the 1995-96 session. This search engine allows you to find Senate and Assembly bills from past legislative sessions.
